The E10S is a great option for homeowners looking to save time, while still managing the daily accumulations of pet hair, dirt, and other debris. The robot vacuums as well as mops. The SwitchBot Mini K10+

It also has 10 flagship-level sensors so it can navigate the tightest of spaces. It's extremely efficient and consumes very less energy, despite its intelligent capabilities.

The app that runs the robot is well-designed and user-friendly, with a simple interface. The main screen displays basic information such as the status of the dust bin, mop and filter pad plate. You can also set cleaning modes and schedules that are highly customizable and generate reports from within the app.

You can also set up no-go zones that prevent the robot from entering certain areas of your house. This is great if you want to keep your robot away from things that aren't safe for it, like a pet area or kitchen. The application can also help keep the track of your battery, ensuring it remains fully charged for optimal operation.

After the robot has finished cleaning, it will return to its Station to charge. The station can be moved from room to room as required, however it can be a bit loud when sucking in what it collected before returning to the charging dock.

There's a physical setup required when you first take the K10+ out of its box to remove any foam padding from crevices and gaps. It's also a good idea to place the machine close to an electrical outlet, and you'll need decent WiFi coverage to connect to the app. Accessories include a spare mop pad side brush, and a filter that can be used as a spare. The Shark IQ XL

The Shark IQ XL is a smart robot that has many features. It's also built fairly well and is priced at less than $400. It's a better robot than the less-than-smart RoboVac G30. It feels more comfortable to use and performs better on carpets with low or high pile carpet. It's also better at navigating around obstacles such as electrical cords.

Its battery life is outstanding and allows the unit to run in its high-suction "Max" mode for more than an hour. Its large bagless station is easy to clean. Simply take the side bin, and empty it into the trashcan. There's no need for bags to clean or additional effort. The companion application for the IQ lets you to send the IQ to specific rooms. It is also possible to resume a cleaning session where it left off when charging is required halfway through. Also, you can plan multiple cleaning sessions in one day if you need to.

When we tested the IQ XL, it did great on hard floors but was unable to handle carpets with medium piles that were prone to apprehension of larger crumbs and sometimes pushing debris into corners where it was not supposed to be. The robot's side brush can sometimes not be able to collect dirt or swish it away. It also travels in a straight lines rather than zigzagging, like more advanced robots.

You can draw no-go zones on the map of the IQ XL app by draggin boundary rectangles. It can be difficult to tweak these boxes, and we'd rather use virtual walls that are simpler to draw.

Another feature we really liked on the IQ XL is the ability to select an Ultra-Clean mode which increases the suction power of the robot and runs its brushes across floors in a crosshatch pattern. This feature is particularly beneficial in areas with high traffic. However, we are disappointed that it's not available on the current models. You can, however, set a timer to automatically activate a single Ultra-Clean cycle in any room in the home.

The Shark Matrix

Shark's ION series robot vacuums are one step above the rest with their LIDAR mapping capabilities and self-emptying bases. The Matrix, however, takes things an extra step by offering a 2-in-1 vacuuming/mopping.

The Matrix is, like other robotic vacuums, can be used to clean your floors using a traditional upright or set up with a powered pad that can agitate the floor and scrub it to give it a more thorough clean. It can also be used in vacuum/mop mode which utilizes the same cleaning pad to simultaneously clean your floor and remove any stains and dirt that are stubborn. The matrix's powerful cleaning mode is especially impressive on carpets, using a matrix grid to take multiple passes over dirt and debris for 30% more effective stain removal than Roomba robot vacuums.

The Matrix is also much simpler to use than the modern Roomba. The process of creating a spot-cleaning zone is as simple as dragging a square on the designated tab in the Shark app, whereas Roomba owners must manually create and name a specific cleaning area on their map. The Matrix also comes with a physical button to start a clean, without opening the app.

Other quality-of-life features are also included with the Matrix, including three suction power modes (normal, Eco and high-power "Max") and recharge/resume functionality that lets it take over where it left off if it has to return to its dock. Its battery life is slightly longer than that of the AI Ultra, and its overall performance for debris pickup was outstanding across a variety of different types of surfaces.

The only drawbacks to the Matrix is that it uses up its battery more quickly than other models, and its cleaning of pet hair is somewhat inconsistent. The Matrix is still a good choice for homes with a lot of pets and it improves the AI Ultra in a few key ways. It's built better, recharges faster and is able to pick up more debris on flooring that is low-pile. Plus, its 'Eco' and Max modes are a welcome step up from the AI Ultra's normal mode.
